As an online business owner one of the many tasks you are required to under take is that of business promoter.

With several thousand new web sites being started every day the typical site owner has to be aware of the many different avenues that are available to promote their site.

Some are more traditional than others such as search engine optimization and submitting your site to directories related to your particular niche. Others take a little more imagination to implement.

One such tactic is creating a viral report or ebook.

This has nothing to do with passing a virus to the computers of unwary surfers.

Going viral simply means that the report or ebook is given for free with the encouragement to the reader to pass it along to others who may be interested in the subject matter which is covered in the text.

This can usually be accomplished by offering an incentive to the reader through a gift, bonus item or monetary reward.

In most cases the viral concept works in conjunction with an affiliate program where an affiliate link is embedded into the report itself or through an email from an autoresponder.

When used with an autoresponder it is usually with what is called a tell a friend script.

These are basically scripts that automatically place a piece of code into a link in an outgoing email. The reader is rewarded when entering the name and email address of three or more friends. When the link is clicked on by the recipient the click is credited to the person who referred the respondent.

Another method used is with what is referred to as branding software.

In this scenario the report or ebook is written with one or more clickable links that lead to either a sales page or a squeeze page.

Squeeze pages are simply pre sales pages that are set up with an autoresponder form on them so that visitors will leave their name and email address.

This is an incredibly useful tool that puts interested prospects into a sales funnel and allows the site owner to contact them with follow up messages at set intervals.

However some links will simply lead prospects directly to the sales page which then adds a cookie to their computer for tracking purposes.

When a sale is made the affiliate who sent the prospect then gets credited with the sale and gets the commission.

Rebranding software is a great tool because it can be used with PDF documents which are widely used on both PC and MAC platforms and are hailed for their security. This means that you are reaching a bigger audience than if you were to use software designed for an EXE application.

By writing good informative reports and short ebooks with brandable links and encouraging or rewarding readers to pass them along, you too can build a large viral marketing system that can bring prospects for months and possibly years to come.

Your self belief directly influences your destiny and success in life. The beliefs that matter most in life are those that are deeply and often unconsciously held. On the surface, you may think that you believe you deserve the best in life but if your deeply and unconsciously held belief is that you are unloved, unworthy, and incapable of achieving the success you desire, then you will find success and happiness difficult to attain.

Our ability to do both these things is directly affected by the beliefs we hold about ourselves. Do we believe we are capable of achieving our goals? And if so, are those goals truly our own? Being true to yourself is an integral part of genuine success and it is impossible to be faithful to your own needs and purpose in life unless you understand what they are.

This means you need to be consciously aware of your deepest beliefs about life. The starting place of this consciousness is to ask yourself questions and then examine your responses. What is most important to you? For example, if your family is more important to you than your career, then in order to be successful you need to create a lifestyle that supports your family values while pursuing your career goals. If you do not do this, your true beliefs will cause you to sabotage your success.

If you are lonely and would like to experience love and romance in your life but you feel unattractive and expect rejection, you will probably not even try to meet people or will drive people away because of your lack of confidence.

The good news is that when you change your beliefs you change your destiny. Thus, your beliefs directly determine the success you achieve in life. Our beliefs influence our thoughts, feelings, words and actions, all of which paint the canvas of our lives with relationships, experiences, successes and failures. Therefore, if you are not successful in any area of your life, consider your habitual thinking about that area, the words you speak about it and the deeply held beliefs these may reflect.

Repetitive experiences in any area such as job loss, insufficient income and relationship break ups are also an indication of deeply held but often unacknowledged beliefs that can rob you of happiness. Alternatively, your successes also reflect your beliefs. For example, those of you who have overcome difficulties to achieve a goal such as a college degree, promotion or other personal goals have been able to do so because of beliefs that support you.

The obvious and most important belief you can have is that you can actually do the thing you desire to do. If you believe you can’t do something then that will be true for you. Fortunately, your self beliefs can be changed and so too can your life.

The first step to changing limiting beliefs is to understand what they are. You can do this by monitoring your self talk. Do you put yourself down a lot? Do you feel like a failure and tell yourself so? Keep a record of what you are telling yourself for a couple of weeks. You are looking for those thoughts that repeat regularly because they will have the strongest impact on your life. Once you have identified them you need to spend some time considering how they may have affected specific areas of your life.

What are the deeper beliefs about yourself that they reflect? Once you have identified the most powerful beliefs that are negatively affecting your life you need to develop strategies to change them. The most effective way to change beliefs is to attack them from multiple angles.

If you believe you cannot accomplish something then you need to begin to do things that will build your confidence in yourself by doing difficult things. Powerful changes can be made to your beliefs about yourself by doing dramatic and frightening things successfully such as sky diving, bungee jumping or learning to do something you have been afraid of such as flying a plane.

Longer term changes to beliefs can be accomplished by rewriting the negative beliefs positively and using them as affirmations. However, the more evidence you can find to prove the truth of these new beliefs the more effective they will be.

Finally, stay away from people who discourage you and try to set in place your old negative self beliefs. Unfortunately, you may need to cut some people out of your life altogether. You need to have people in your life who support your positive new beliefs.

Your beliefs determine your future; they are life and death to you. Therefore whatever undermines your future happiness must be discarded. Your life is a gift to you. Do not let anyone or anything rob you of your best possible destiny.

We all know how much easier it is to work when we’re organized, but having the motivation to get organized is a little hard for many to come by. This is because disorganization leads to feelings of being overwhelmed, and when we’re overwhelmed, it is hard to think clearly on any one task let alone change the way we are used to doing things in the name of organization.

It’s a vicious cycle really. If you could get organized, the feelings of being overwhelmed would fade away and your productivity would go up. But you cannot take the time to get organized if you are completely overwhelmed and behind in production. Hence the vicious cycle.

This is why many people look to professionals to help them sort out their cluttered mess. While advisors can be a great asset to have, you don’t necessarily have to have one to get things straightened out in your life and in your office. All you need is one day. Once you have implemented a filing and scheduling system, stick to it. Don’t allow papers to pile up on your desk or post it appointments to get stuck to your shoe. Stay organized and take a moment each day to clean and organize your work area. Do this for a few days and you will find that you have a lot more time to actually work instead of looking for your work.

So, immediately after clicking to the next page in one traffic exchange you’ll move to the next tab and click to the next page on that exchange. Because most other members also use tabbed browsing, your page has only a second or two to capture their attention. Your page’s headline must immediately interest them and distract them from clicking to the next page.

These facts have a profound effect on your ability to make money using traffic exchanges. To make a significant amount of money from traffic exchanges there are two things you must do.

Build a Downline

First, you must build a downline. That is, you must encourage other people to join a traffic exchange from your promotional link to that exchange. This is important because most traffic exchanges give you credits that allow your pages to be displayed when members of your downline surf. You may receive credits worth 10% or 20% of the credits earned by the surfing of your downline.

A large downline adds significant credits to your account and allows your pages to be displayed frequently. It gives you tremendous power to promote money making opportunities on the traffic exchanges. This is why building a downline should be your first priority.

You can build a downline in two ways. One way is to cross promote. That is, you use a splash page from traffic exchange “A” on traffic exchange “B” and visa versa. So, when someone surfs traffic exchange “B” and joins traffic exchange “A” from your splash page, you’ve added to your downline on exchange “A”.

The second way to build a downline is to make use of a traffic building resource like TrafficHoopla.com. TrafficHoopla tracks the performance of traffic exchanges and ranks them in order of effectiveness.

You can join TrafficHoopla and the traffic exchanges they monitor. After joining each exchange you can add your program ID for each exchange to TrafficHoopla’s database.

Then, when you advertise TrafficHoopla, the links to the various exchanges will contain your program IDs. When someone joins the traffic exchanges via your TrafficHoopla link, you’ll gain a downline in each of those traffic exchanges.

So, by advertising only TrafficHoopla you can gain a large downline in a number traffic exchanges. This is a very powerful technique for building downlines on the traffic exchanges.

Build a List

The second thing you need to do as you build your downline is to build an opt-in list. Building a list is one of the primary uses of traffic exchanges. A quarter of the web pages in a traffic exchange ask for your email address while another 38% of the pages will ask for your email address when you click to a second page.

An opt-in list allows you to send out newsletters that cover a topic of interest to your list members. As you cover topics relevant to your list members you’ll build credibility with them. Your list members will then be more likely to investigate the products you recommend in your newsletter. And, when you recommend your own products or affiliate products you’ll make money when your list members make a purchase.

You’ve probably heard that “the money is in the list.” When you have a large list you’ll be able to make money every time you send out a newsletter. The larger your list, the more money you’ll be able to make.

So, remember that the most effective use of your time while starting out with traffic exchanges is first to build a large downline and second to build a list. Doing these things will put you head and shoulders above the average traffic exchange member.
