Plan For Success

Whether you are selling real estate or insurance or advertising vehicles for sale, as with everything successful, selling needs to be planned. Communication is essential, be it either face to face or using the highest level of networking.
Successful salespeople work at creating further sales by sending out thank you notes, birthday cards, invitations to events on the anniversary of the purchase to their clients from the past and this simple act continues to bring in more and more business each year as it encourages regular clients to remain loyal.
Start your plan by categorizing your current and potential customers into types and methods of contact. It is a good idea if you make contact or keep in touch with a specified number of customers each day, say, ten current customers or new contacts who you are not yet doing business with. There are some you will send an interesting email to and some you will speak to face to face. Talk to new people you have noticed, for example, fellow commuters, or shop assistants but remember to make the amount of targets simple and achievable to begin with. It is important to follow up current clients as you have already won their confidence when they purchased from you before so they are likely to do business with you again if they have been happy with your service.
Although there is no absolute secret to success, if you look and act the part you are half way there. Dress appropriately for your position and talk like the confident person you are. Let the customer know you believe in yourself but without showing arrogance. Customers will spread the word to their friends, family and associates and this in turn will result in new business being brought your way. Be seen out and about and make sure your name is being spread around. Make sure your reputation is that of good service and the fact that you will always offer friendly advice. People like honest dealings, a pleasant approach and, of course, manners - please and thank you go a long way.
Selling is not complicated or very difficult if you keep your plan simple and straightforward. Your plan can be made up in whichever way you chose and can be added to or altered as you like. When eventually you have got it right you will be able to use this system throughout your sales career, planning, focusing, following up and hopefully becoming very successful along the way.
