Keeping a Powerful Network Marketing Downline

When you’re in the business of marketing for a living, you know the importance of a network marketing downline. Without a viable downline, your income will stall. Having a powerful downline won’t happen by chance and it won’t develop overnight. You must cultivate your downline in order for it to flourish.

If you’ve been in marketing for awhile, then you know sometimes as fast as a downline grows, it seems it shrinks. You may have three hundred in your downline on Monday after you run a certain promotion but by Friday, you have seventy.

People are leaving and you can’t figure out why. You know the business is a great money making opportunity and you know that the product is rock solid. Working hard on your recruiting tasks is how you build a network marketing downline, but don’t make the mistake of thinking that’s how you keep them.

The problem lies in the ‘out with the old, in with the new’ way of recruiting. Many network marketers get a prospect registered, get them started, put them in the back of their mind and seek new recruits. You can’t be out of touch with any of your network marketing downline if success is your goal.

As you’re busy bringing in new people to add to your downline, don’t forget about the ones you already have. Do you know what moves people to action? What persuades them to get excited about a program or a product? A leader does. They’re buying into the strength of your knowledge. You always need to sell yourself before you sell a product.

Once you sign a new person up to your downline, you have to follow their progress. Find out how things are going for them. Are they headed the right direction with the product? What does contacting your downline on a regular basis do?

It keeps you in the loop so you can head off any ‘this isn’t working for me – I quit’ problems and it lets them know they weren’t wrong to believe in you. You can contact your downline with bits of helpful information, tips to make their business run smoother, and problems to be on the look out for.

You don’t have to spend hours of time you might not have doing this. You can set it up in automation in between the times you can’t send a personal email or make a phone call. Most trouble in a downline can be avoided by making sure you stay at the helm and communicate frequently with those who are following your lead.
