Affiliate Marketing: How To Design A Website That Works

Filed Under (Affiliate Marketing, Business Success, Internet Marketing, Make Money, Network Marketing, Online Profits) by Kevin Sinclair on 14-06-2008

A website is the first step in becoming an affiliate marketer. In fact, any person who is looking to have an online business, must have a website, this is the ultimate requirement. The website should be professional, simple, and informative. It does not have be graphic heavy or intensive, but it should display the utmost in professionalism.

To get started with your own website there are three steps that you have to take first. The first thing you have to do is to choose and buy your own domain name. The second step is to acquire hosting services. Finally, you have to design and upload your own website.

Preferably, before you decided to start a website you did some keyword research. It is generally a good idea to choose a domain name that uses your primary keyword or keyword phrase. If nothing else, choose a domain name that works well with your company and what you have to offer.

Choosing a hosting provider is relatively easy as well. There are many available across the web. GoDaddy is one of the most popular and reliable of the hosting providers available on the internet. You want to make sure that you have a good uptime percentage and that your files are safe in their storage.

Designing A Website

You have a few choices when it comes to getting a design for your website. Your first choice is to hire your own web designer. They talk with you, figure out what you are looking for, and design the website per your preferences, specifications, and instructions. If this is the route you chose, make sure that you tell them you want a website that is clean and professional.

You can find great designers at freelance sites such as ODesk or RentACoder. You can create something of an advertisement of your needs within these sites and other web designers will start to bid. After receiving your bids, you should look through every designer that has shown interest, look at their portfolio, how much are they bidding and charging. After doing this, choose the one that most appeals to you and has what you are looking for.

Your second choice will be to choose a free template from the many available on the internet. This is ideal for those who are not willing to pay someone to do their design work. All you will have to do is download the template from your choices website, replace the content with your own, and then make it live on your hosting provider by uploading.

Your third choice is to use what is called a site builder. Your hosting provider may offer a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) site builder or you could opt for software programs such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver.

What Does Every Good Website Need?

A good website must:

- Be Professional – You should use professional colors, most any color can be professional if used right and should be neat, clean, and easy to understand.
- Be Simple – Avoid a graphic heavy website, flashy banners, and a multitude of animation, this can be distracting. Keep it simple, easy to use, and navigational.
- Contain a Search Function – You want to make sure that your visitors can find what they need without a lot of clicks. Visitors love searching because it allows them to easily go where they need and get what they want in terms of information and products.
- Have the Ability to Capture Information to build your Mailing list – on of the most important elements of building a successful affiliate marketing business is building your own mailing list. Having a box or method of capture on your website is crucial to success.

You know that a website is the first step in creating your affiliate marketing business, make sure that it is easy to use, informative, professional, and can be easily navigated at the same time.

Do You Want To Become A Super Affiliate? Here’s How

Filed Under (Affiliate Marketing, Business Success, Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money) by Kevin Sinclair on 31-03-2008

As the Internet becomes ever more popular and commonplace, more people have also taken the plunge and joined the world of self-employed business owners who are affiliate marketers. Affiliate marketing lets you work for yourself and use your skills and independence to work for you. To be successful in any business, it’s not going to happen overnight. You’ll still need to both exert effort and take some time to build your affiliate marketing skills up and get your business up and running. However, if you persist, and if you are determined and are willing to put in the hard work necessary, you can become a successful Internet marketer, which can be the perfect career for you.

To become a “super affiliate,” listen to the advice of other successful affiliates. They’ve been where you are and know what they’re talking about. One of the first pieces of advice they often give is to say that you should concentrate on a particular niche. Don’t try and sell everything under the sun. Instead, concentrate on one product you like and do just that until you figure out the best way to sell it for you. Once you’ve gotten going and know what you’re doing, you can always expand your product line if you want to.

Once you’ve built up some affiliate products, you’ll need to know how to promote these. Utilizing search engines and the Internet is usually the best way to do so. Once you are confident with what you can do, you can also try pay per click advertising as another means to expand your income. However, before you do, you need to make sure that you understand Internet marketing well. Pay per click can eat up your profits if you don’t know what you’re doing, so save that until you really do know how to be a successful affiliate marketer.

Next, take the time to know your product and to know who your audience is. When you know who your audience is, and when you know what your product is and what it does, you begin to be seen as an expert by those you sell to and you will build up credibility. You’ll build trust with those you sell to and they will in turn develop trust in your products. This will mean greater sales for you and a much stronger business overall.

Once you’ve gotten your feet under you, don’t be afraid to diversify. Sign up with more than one merchant and expand as much as you can. If a particular merchant wants you to sign up with him or her alone, don’t. If you use several merchants, you’ll get much more exposure, and you’re also protecting yourself if one particular merchant goes under or does not pay you.

Next, stay on top of trends in the market. Change if you need to. Internet marketing is constantly in flux and changing. If you stay flexible and are willing to change yourself, you can make this type of flexibility work for you instead of against you as well. Remember that what worked well last year might not work well this year.

Finally, keep going and don’t give up. Many affiliate marketing schemes do fail, but most often, it’s not because of poor ideas or products. It’s because people either didn’t know what they were doing or gave up before they could know. Take the time to build your business and keep at it. Do something everyday or learn something new to promote your business. If you keep it up, you’ll eventually start see success.

Affiliate marketing can be a great way to make money and be your own boss. You can put your creative knowledge and skills to work for you instead of working for others and giving them most of what should be your actual paycheck. It does take work, but affiliate marketing needs to be built up just like any other business. Sticking to the advice in this article and keeping at it without giving up will help you see results. Affiliate marketing can be a great way to be in business for yourself and give yourself unlimited business opportunities. With a little hard work and some determination, you, too, can become a super affiliate.

Can A Free Business Opportunity Really Make You Money

Filed Under (Affiliate Marketing, Business Success, Home Business, Make Money, Online Profits) by Kevin Sinclair on 12-03-2008

Within the world of home businesses “free” has to be one of the most overused of all words. There are so many free offers for you to take advantage of. But have a think about this; can a free business opportunity really make you money?

The straight answer to this question is yes, it can. Using affiliate marketing as the business model, this is what you can do to make money.

You can join practically any affiliate marketing program free of charge. Within a matter of only a few minutes you can have an affiliate id number which is coded into an affiliate website.

Through your promotion of this affiliate website you make sales and earn yourself commission on each transaction. The cost to you is nothing, only the time it takes for you to promote the affiliate website.

There are, however, just a few things you should be aware of before you think you have got it made.

1. Directing traffic to your affiliate web page is not quite as easy as it sounds at first. It will take hard work and you will need to familiarize and master methods to generate traffic to your website such as article and forum marketing, classified ads, blogs, etc.

2. How do you make yourself stand out from all of the others who are using the same product with the same affiliate website given to them by the merchant? This can prove to be a difficult way to make money when there is so much competition.

3. Whether on line or off line a customer will need follow up after follow up before they decide to take the plunge and buy, as most people these days always think things over before committing to a purchase.

If you endorse your affiliate website all you do is send the customer to a page which does not give you the opportunity to follow up at a future date. Your viewer will look your page over and then move on. You have made all this effort for nothing

So how can you avoid this happening? The answer is simple. You have to create your own website and send the readers to visit it. You should use the effective method known as building a list by creating a landing page which will hold all of your visitor’s names and email addresses in an autoresponder. You can also create a pre sell page, supplying the visitor with a personal testimonial about the product you have on offer.

Even though this is not for free and it will take a small amount of money to set up a website and an autoresponder, it still costs very little in comparison with setting up a traditional business and you are sure to do much better than your rivals who will still be using the same old affiliate sales pages
