Solving The Traffic Exchange Riddle

Filed Under (Business Success, Free Traffic, Internet Marketing, Leads, Online Profits, Traffic) by Kevin Sinclair on 18-05-2008

Anyone in the internet marketing field has used, or at the very least is familiar to some degree with, Traffic Exchanges. If you are not very well informed, look them up – you’ll likely as not read many horror stories about them.

However, a Traffic Exchange can be a great thing for your business provided you know how to effectively make use of it.

It’s a simple enough concept – you look at others’ websites and they in turn look at yours.

A page view is counted as about ten seconds of exposure. However, this is not nearly enough if the page features a lot of multimedia content. Ten seconds won’t be enough time for the page to finish loading.

Don’t use a full sales page or affiliate page.

In the small amount of time you’ll get, a blank page or one that is only partially loaded does nothing for your business.

A Traffic Exchange is best used to gather leads. Nothing else, just collect email addresses and names for future marketing efforts.

A capture page which loads quickly and has one eye catching feature will work to your best advantage – you can make even a web surfer pressed for time take notice of your page.

A fast loading lead capture page with one bequeathing feature will generally make even the most impatient surfer take note.

What you want is a page with a concise message, no scrolling necessary and which loads fast. This is what will work best for you in a Traffic Exchange.

Once that surfer’s attention has been grabbed and they opt in to your list, they have become a lead and you may email them via your autoresponder.

Of course, this is exactly what you want. You can then promote your offers to leads any time.

Simply put, you need to set up a good lead capture page – then you must get to the task of getting traffic to your page.

Firefox is the tool of choice here. Multiple tabs are tailor made for Traffic Exchange servers. You can open several tabs and move from one to the other, generating hits from several traffic exchange servers at once. It works like a charm.

You can even try to build a downline in these traffic exchanges – you will then receive some of the traffic they generate while using the exchange.

If you can get others to direct traffic to your page for you, this means more traffic and less work for you: a winning combination!

If you have several lead capture pages up and running, you are going to need a rotator.

A lot of Traffic Exchanges accept rotators, but not all of them – check with the exchange for what they allow.

There is another issue with this continued surfing – some surfers can simply not hold themselves back from opting into a slew of lead capture pages and get bombarded with email and offers from all of these pages.

You need to teach yourself to ignore all of these offers facing you and go on with the business of getting more traffic to your site. This is why you’re surfing; stick to the task at hand.

There is even software out there which permits you to submit a URL to a rotator. In these setups, hits are purchased in bulk from a variety of Traffic Exchanges and all of the submitted URLs benefit from this promotional tactic. This is perhaps not as efficient as some other methods, but it does save a lot of time.

Follow these simple steps: use a Traffic Exchange to find leads using fast loading lead capture pages with opt-in lists being directed to your autoresponder.

Then either buy or surf for traffic.

This system still works very well, is simple to use and will reward your efforts.

Attract Traffic By Using Expired Domain Names

Filed Under (Internet Marketing, Leads, Network Marketing, Traffic) by Kevin Sinclair on 19-04-2008

If you’re a new webmaster, no doubt you know that it’s quite difficult to get traffic to come to your site. This is because building legitimate traffic takes both money and time. Why? If a webmaster is trying to get traffic through search engines, he or she will need to spend a lot of time on content creation and on link building. If traffic is coming through a pay per click program, a new webmaster might have to invest hundreds or even thousands of dollars to get the best use of a high-performance keyword. However, another alternative is out there that can allow a new webmaster to get a lot of traffic without having to invest much time or money. What is it? Purchasing expired domain names.

What’s an expired domain name? It’s a domain name that never got renewed by its owner so that it’s out there, ready for use by someone else. This can be true for a variety of reasons, such as that there was no interest in the original website, that the owner ran out of money, or even that the owner him- or herself died. Whatever the reason for the expiration, when a renewal fee is not paid to continue using that name, it still functions just like any other domain name. There’s one difference, though, and that is that an expired domain name doesn’t have a website anymore. Instead, searchers trying to find this page get something to the effect of “404 error” when they come to the site itself.

This is a waste of traffic when this happens; when an expired domain name points to a “not found” webpage, basically, the person searching for the information has gotten nowhere. Many domain name companies have realized this, so many sell expired domain names either through an upfront and direct sale or by utilizing an auction. With either of these methods, sometimes a domain name can fetch anywhere between under $100 to over $1 million. In some cases, these sales also include the original website.

How do you as a webmaster know if an expired domain name is worth buying for your own use? First, check to see the Google page rank of a domain name that has expired. To do this, download Google’s toolbar and type in the website name of the expired domain name. If the page indicator is grayed out, the name itself is worthless because Google has banned it. The rank itself will tell you how popular the page is, although most not banned would be all right. What you really want to look for as a webmaster is for a page rank number between 6 and 10. This means that the website, in its first incarnation, was very popular.

You also need to find out what’s called the “Alexa” rating of a domain name that has expired. This determines how much traffic has actually gone to a particular domain name. If a website has not received a significant quantity of traffic, there will be no Alexa rating. To tell what the Alexa rating for an expired domain name is, go to Alexa.com.

Finally, you need to see how many websites link to the expired domain name. To do this, go to Google (usually the best search engine to do this) and type in the command “link:” (with no quotes) followed by the URL of the expired domain name (with no spaces between the colon and the URL). If many links are returned, this means that traffic coming to the expired domain name was legitimate and not somehow simply falsely “generated” to give an artificially high page rank.

Lead Generation Can Make Your Business Profitable

Filed Under (Business Success, Leads, MLM, Network Marketing, Online Profits) by Kevin Sinclair on 10-04-2008

When you run a business, it’s generally recognized as necessary that you need to use lead generation. Whether your business is large or small, people who want what you have to offer are very necessary if your business is to be successful and you are to make a profit.

Of course, word-of-mouth is one great way to get just what you need. In fact, there are several ways to generate this, but if you’re just getting started in a small business, or if you operate a business that’s already in existence, you might need to be a little bit more proactive than that.

One way to do this is to buy leads. However, it’s often true that buyers will simply lose money doing this without making any gains at all. This is because often times, generic leads are useless, while others may only have a slight interest in your business.

One of the worst strategies you can do is to buy a list of e-mail addresses for generic leads, especially those that are sold to many users. If someone receives an e-mail from you and doesn’t know who you are, you can pretty much rest assured that he or she will not buy from you. If you send out many thousands of e-mails, your response is going to be negligible at best. At worst, you’re going to get hostile abuse and maybe even be accused of spam.

It’s better and more profitable to use an automatic lead generation system. These are either free or cost very little to set up and maintain. In particular, you need the exact steps that will get your lead generation put on autopilot. These techniques come with step-by-step instructions. At that point, you could truly begin to earn money.

If you need phone numbers, you can take this into account when you set you free lead generation system. You can design it so that you leads are not just prequalified, but you can get the phone numbers of those leads at the same time.

Postal leads are also a good way to do this, in which you utilize snail mail rather than e-mail. This can be risky, and they can also be expensive. One thing you don’t want to do is to mail a full information package to leads that are not qualified. Better and cheaper is to send a postcard so that you aren’t spending money on people who don’t want your materials or who have already become customers.

Even so, your costs may mount with simple postcards. Many find that particular type of lead generation quite difficult.

It’s not all bad news, though. You still need leads and you can still set up an automatic lead generation system, put them into an autoresponder to send out a series of e-mails, and then send a postcard later on to those who respond. But you should not just buy leads and mail postcards out willy-nilly. This has simply lost money for thousands of people

What’s important here is to prequalify your leads. Your lead generation system should include steps to prequalify prospects for your offer. Fortunately, there are low cost and even free methods that you can do this with. Some will be mentioned in brief here. You can follow up by doing your own research in depth on each.

Method 1. Viral List Builders. These techniques encourage users to pass products onto others; these types of products can include information, pictures, jokes, cartoons or e-books containing your information.

Method 2. Ad Co-Op Publishing. You can enter into cooperative ad exchanges with those who agree they’ll place your advertising on their webpages, as long as you do the same with their ads on your own webpages.

Method 3. Forum Tricks. The Internet these days contains literally thousands of forums that cover every conceivable topic under the sun. These can provide you opportunities to get your name out there and become known; you can introduce readers to your advertising, by utilizing your forum signature.

Method 4. Article Marketing Strategies. Articles are one way that you can distribute information and content, and you can also generate back links to your site this way, too.

Method 5. Special Bonuses. If you offer your visitors incentives to join your e-mail list, you may eventually convert prospective buyers to actual buyers.

Method 6. Reverse Marketing. If you yourself join every offer you can find related to your own market and then contact the person making that offer, you have just made contact with someone already interested in your particular niche. They will want to know more and want more quality information, and you can do the same with them.

Method 7. Joint Ventures. If you get in contact with others who have worked in a similar venue and have similar interests, they can enter into joint ventures with you. If they can provide you leads and you simply close sales, you can offer discounts to their list and perhaps share profits with them as well.

Many if not most lead generation approaches are only failures that will simply cost you money as an Internet marketer. This, in turn, cuts into your business’ profits. However, you can set up a low cost lead generation system that will automatically get you leads and build a long-term, lucrative relationship with them.

A Beginners Guide To Craigslist

Filed Under (Advertising, Internet Marketing, Leads, Online Profits, Traffic) by Kevin Sinclair on 08-04-2008

Even though Craigslist has been on the go one way or another since 1995, there are some individuals who still have absolutely no idea how to use it. These people are surely missing a fantastic opportunity to belong to a continually evolving on line community. This community provides a superb resource for retrieving information, getting a job, meeting and dating other people, buying and selling goods on line and discussing important topics with others. In this article you will find a brief introduction to the main sections on Craigslist.

The Community Section

This section of Craigslist is extremely useful if you want to find local information such as events and activities taking place, so this is clearly the place to take a look at if you need to know about anything that is happening in your own area. They also have a local lost and found section too.

The Discussion Forums

An ideal place to say what you think about something and be given the opportunity to answer questions and share information with others. In order for the user to find other people who share the same interests, this section is split into categories, some of which you have to log in to post whilst it is not necessary on others.

The For Sale Section

This speaks for itself, this section is categorized and each sub section gives details of the type of item to be found in there. There is also an items wanted part to this section where requests can be made when users are looking for something particular. Some items listed in the for sale section do not require a fee to be paid. They may be free or available by bartering.

The Gigs Section

Along the lines of the jobs section these advertisements within the gigs section usually refer to one off opportunities and not to continuous work. An example of this would be an advertisement for volunteers to help out at a particular one day event, whereas regular and full time work positions would be featured in the jobs section.

The Housing Section

This section presents the user with various options in connection to lodging. Featuring available rentals, sublet opportunities, people looking for lodgers or house sharers, house and apartment exchanges, real estate sales, holiday lets, office and parking space rentals or sales and storage facilities.

The Jobs Section

This is by far the most detailed section on Craigslist. Broken down into several different categories enabling the user to look for vacancies within their chosen career with a choice or part time or full time, this section also offers telecommute and contract positions to users.

The Personals Section

This is where you can meet and form relationships both of a platonic and romantic nature. Restricted to users over the age of 18, this section has several categories, allowing for both heterosexuals and homosexuals to find possible dates.

The Resumes Section

This is the place where people looking for work can present their resumes. A catchy headline is a good way of standing out from the crowd in this section as it is not categorized for specific types of work being presented.

The Services Section

This is where service providers can place their ads for the services they have on offer. Advertisements are to be placed in the relevant categories but if there is no specific category the ad can be placed in the generic small business part of this section.
