It is worth cataloguing the basic principles to be enforced to increase website traffic and search engine rankings.

* Create a site with valuable content, products or services.

* Place primary and secondary keywords within the first 25 words in your page content and spread them evenly throughout the document.

* Research and use the right keywords/phrases to attract your target customers.

* Use your keywords in the right fields and references within your web page. Like Title, META tags, Headers, etc.

* Keep your site design simple so that your customers can navigate easily between web pages, find what they want and buy products and services.

* Submit your web pages i.e. every web page and not just the home page, to the most popular search engines and directory services. Hire someone to do so, if required. Be sure this is a manual submission. Do not engage an automated submission service.

* Keep track of changes in search engine algorithms and processes and accordingly modify your web pages so your search engine ranking remains high. Use online tools and utilities to keep track of how your website is doing.

* Monitor your competitors and the top ranked websites to see what they are doing right in the way of design, navigation, content, keywords, etc.

* Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from. Analyze your visitor location and their incoming sources whether search engines or links from other sites and the keywords they used to find you.

* Make your customer visit easy and give them plenty of ways to remember you in the form of newsletters, free reports, reduction coupons etc.

* Demonstrate your industry and product or service expertise by writing and submitting articles for your website or for article banks so you are perceived as an expert in your field.

* When selling products online, use simple payment and shipment methods to make your customer’s experience fast and easy.

* When not sure, hire professionals. Though it may seem costly, but it is a lot less expensive than spending your money on a website which no one visits.

* Don’t look at your website as a static brochure. Treat it as a dynamic, ever-changing sales tool and location, just like your real store to which your customers with the same seriousness.

Getting Noticed on MySpace

Filed Under (Attraction Marketing, Leads, Network Marketing, SEO, Social Marketing) by Kevin on 07-10-2008

Getting noticed on MySpace is very similar to getting noticed in real life. Those who want to create a great deal of interest in their MySpace website should create an appealing website, offer something unique to visitors and make a concerted effort to meeting others on MySpace. Additionally, MySpace members should optimize their website for keywords they wish to be associated with to ensure other members will find their website when searching for these keywords.

Creating an Appealing Website

The most important step to being notices on MySpace is to create a website which is both aesthetically appealing and interesting to visitors. This is necessary because otherwise, members are not likely to spend a great deal of time visiting your website. Those who find your website will likely only spend a few moments on your website if you use garish colors or fonts which are difficult to read.

Conversely, websites which are designed to be appealing to the eye are more likely to hold an audience’s attention. Likewise websites filled with useful information related to a particular subject are much more likely to be interesting to visitors than websites which do not offer much useful information and are not really focused on a particular subject.

Offer Something Unique

A MySpace website can get noticed by offering something unique. Websites which are created with the help of a template can seem somewhat boring and may not really stand out among other websites on the community. Try investing in an original design to attract more interest on MySpace. More advanced website design on MySpace requires basic knowledge of HTML. Information on this subject is readily available in a number of locations. Those who are interested in learning more about HTML to create a more interesting MySpace website can find useful information on the Internet or in books. This information can be used to design a MySpace website in a way that will be unique and attention grabbing.

Those who do not have any design skills or the desire to learn about website design can still find a way to offer visitors a unique website experience. Websites which are designed with templates can still stand out by providing unique content. Members who are able to provide in depth information on a particular subject or a unique take on a situation in their blog can help themselves get noticed on MySpace.

Meeting Others on MySpace

Another way to get noticed on MySpace is to visit other members’ websites and place comments or send messages to these members. They will be more inclined to seek out your MySpace website if you left a message on their website than they would otherwise.

Those who make an effort to meet other members of the MySpace community are much more likely to attract a greater interest in their own website. The concept of friends on MySpace includes those who visit your website. Besides commenting on the websites of other members, MySpace users can also promote their MySpace website on other Internet locations. Including a link to the MySpace page in the signature line on discussion forums is just one way to promote your website.

Optimize Your Website on MySpace

Another way to create a greater interest in your MySpace website is through search engine optimization (SEO). This includes incorporating relevant keywords into your website in the hopes of making your website one of the first ones noticed by members who search for particular keywords. This not only helps to get a website noticed on MySpace but makes it much more likely that the website will be noticed by members of the target audience. Those who are searching for information on particular keywords featured on your website are those who are also more likely to be interested in the content of your MySpace website. The SEO step is very important for those who want to attract a particular audience but for members who are just interested in making a large number of friends through MySpace, SEO is not really necessary.

How To Make Viral Videos And Drive More Traffic To Your Website

Filed Under (Attraction Marketing, Free Traffic, Internet Marketing, Network Marketing) by Kevin on 04-10-2008

It’s a fact of life: the weirder or funnier the video, the more hits it generates. The more hits it generates, the more it is palmed off to other Internet subscribers. The more people who see the video, the more hits it generates. It’s a win-win scenario that entails a bit of creativity, a bit of posting, a bit of word-of-mouth advertising and viola! You’ve got (what else?) a hit.

This is the theory that backs the promotion of viral videos on websites.

A viral video is really any video clip that spreads a virus on the Internet. It is usually passed on through blogs, emails, instant messages or other media sharing websites like YouTube. The most successful viral videos are the funnier, if not weirder amateur clips, although there are some noteworthy (and copyrighted) commercials, and excerpts from TV series and movies. Many online advertisers are now seeing the potential of the viral video phenomenon, and some of them are opting for this as a new marketing strategy.

Why? The answer is simple. Some videos are calling so much attention that they cross over to the more conventional arenas of the tri-media: the newspapers, radio and TV shows. It provokes a domino effect that gathers a lot of momentum with very little expended energy.

For the more hard-nosed net marketers, videos can be used to jack up traffic to a projected website, provided that it is done in connection with the products and services available on the website itself. Making them funny or weird is one way of making the video stand out among the thousands of new videos being uploaded on the Internet daily.

There are two ways of placing a video on your website. One: you take an already popular video and upload it to your page. Two: you create your own video and upload it to your page.

If you are opting for option number one, it might be best to judge first if the content of the video is even remotely associated with the theme of your website. If not, it would be best not to post it. That video can be downloaded from other sites, and you just as well may be getting more competition you can handle. Sure, it might generate traffic for some time, but is it quality traffic? And for how long will the interest hold out?

Besides, posting any video for the sake of posting something just might have a negative effect on you and your website. Site visitors might assume that you are as disorganized as your page and as a marketer, you would not want that.

The second way is to create your own video, which is more advisable if you are seriously considering the quality of traffic going through your site. It does not need to be a funny or weird video. The trend these days is leaning towards informative “how-to” videos. If your video or videos complements the other graphics, banners and articles of your site, you will not only have an increase in quality traffic, but an increase in the “expert-reputation” as well.

Tips To Creating Powerful Headlines

Filed Under (Advertising, Email Marketing, Internet Marketing, Network Marketing) by Kevin on 01-10-2008

In internet marketing one of the hottest topics is always about headlines. Everyone is always looking for another angle, another way to pack even more selling power into their headlines.

Why? Because for many decades, test after test have conclusively proven that a good headline can increase your response by as much as 1800%! With that type of improvement it makes sense to devote as much time as it takes to create and test headlines until you have found a winner.

The headline or first impression is the part of the ad that gets attention. The first step in persuading your reader to buy your product is by getting their attention. Here are some tips for making your headlines more effective and compelling.

1. Appeal to the reader’s needs or interest.
Good ads will appeal to a persons needs and benefits to the consumer.

2. Get your reader’s attention.
“Free” is the most powerful word you can use in writing ads, articles, or guides on or even off the internet.

3. Use appropriate appeals.
Avoid headlines and concepts that are cute, clever, and irrelevant. Clearly and directly explain the benefits of your product or article to the consumer.

4. Speak directly to your audience.
Identify your audience and appeal to your target market.

5. Deliver a meaningful message.
A headline that is a complete statement is very powerful. It doesn’t hurt to have a sub-heading or title to give added support to your main headline.

6. Draw the reader into your body copy.
The headline needs to lead the reader into the rest of your article or advertisement. This can be done by entertaining the reader or making the reader curious about your subject so he will want to read further.

7. Use direct headlines when writing about straightforward offers and high-interest products.
State the selling proposition directly, with no wordplay, hidden meanings, or puns.

8. Express your sales proposition in a fresh and compelling way
Use a headline that expresses the main thought with a twist or in a fresh or compelling way.

9. Inject news into your headline.
If you have news about your product, announce it in the headline.

10. Offer to teach the reader something useful.
“How to” headlines offer the promise of solid information, sound advice, and solutions to problems.

11. Ask a provocative question.
The headline must ask a question that the reader can empathize with or would like to see answered. Question headlines should always focus on the reader’s self-interest, curiosity, and needs.

12. Tell customers what you want them to do.
Headlines that directly tell prospects to buy a product or take other action are called “command headlines.” Command headlines generate sales by calling for immediate action.

13. Use the “reason why” approach.
One easy and effective way of writing body copy is to list the sales features of your product in simple 1-2-3 fashion. If you write your ad this way, you can use a reason-why headline to introduce the list.

14. Put the headline in quotation marks.
Testimonials work because they offer proof that a business satisfies its customers.

15. Make headlines and visuals work together.

Pictures can work with headlines to create a unified sales concept more powerful than either words or pictures alone. The visual should work with the headline.

16. Avoid being clever for the sake of being clever.
Creativity should be used to gain attention and interest in a manner that promotes the product. Your goal is to sell something or educate your reader.

One last word of advice. Let the market decide which is the best headline for your ad by continuously testing headlines. The results can be astounding. Simple changes can increase your response, sometimes getting you ten times or better response for the same ad cost.
